Hi, Allison!
I want to thank you for your patience in my reply. I've just returned from a wonderful family vacation from Walt Disney World® Resort, which has me excited for your upcoming race-cations!
While an Epcot® Area Resort is the best option for the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon, your choices open up a bit for the Princess Half Marathon Weekend; mainly because ALL Walt Disney World® Resort hotels are host hotels. So regardless of where you choose to call your castle during this royal race, event transportation will be provided to all race activities.
That said, I still like the Epcot® Area for the convenience of race-morning travel time as you are close to the Start Zone Area and you'll be the least affected by traffic - your journey back on the bus is also shorter than other resorts.
Another option for this race is a Monorail Resort. I like this area for the Princess because of being near the Magic Kingdom, and race transportation will be by Epcot® Monorail at the Transportation & Ticket Center. In addition, you still have a lot of dining and recreation options. My favorite in this resort area is Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. You can stroll right over to the Transportation & Ticket Center to catch the Monorail. This is where I have chosen to stay during the Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna®, which has the same starting line and finishing line as the Princess Half Marathon.
I hope this helps get you started with your Princess Half Marathon Planning, Allison! Please let me know if you need any additional suggestions within the various categories of accommodations. With options in the value, moderate and deluxe levels, there is a "home" to meet every runners' budget.
