Hi Faith, I am running my first half and first run disney race in February and I am wondering about best pre and post race places to eat and things to do. Since its my first half not sure if I will feel ike going to the park after? What do you think?

    Hello there, Bridget!

Welcome to the wonderful world of runDisney! I'm so excited to hear you are preparing for your first race. Here are my top suggestions for pre and post race eats.

    Pre Race
Il Mulino New York Trattoria at Disney's Swan Resort- This is one of my favorite places to "carb-load" prior to a race (just remember to still keep your portions small). Here, you'll find old-school Italian dining with a very chic ambience. The Spaghetti Carbonara is my go-to dish!
      • Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano- Italian fare here is made extra special by being nestled in Disney's Hollywood Studios.

    Post Race
     • Biergarten Restaurant- This bountiful Bavarian buffet is a one of the funnest ways to commemorate your race accomplishment! Located in the Germany Pavilion along the World Showcase Promenade in Epcot® theme park, this restaurant will have you singing, dancing and celebrating Octoberfest Disney style.
      • Akershus Royal Banquet Hall- Celebrate your accomplishment with your favorite Disney Princesses! And don't forget to wear your medal!

My advice for after the race is to head back to your resort hotel room to relax, refresh and refuel. Once you're ready, head to the parks! It's very important you keep moving on Sunday, even if it's on the slow side, or you'll end up incredibly sore. Plus, you'll want to show off your hard work :)

    I hope this helps, Bridget!

    Have a magical race!
