Hi, Jimmy!
So nice to hear from a fellow South Carolinian! I want to congratulate you for making the decision to reach for that 26.2 mile distance in the 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon. Please know you are not alone with the range of emotions you are feeling, I've been there, too!
First, know you are completely and totally capable of completing a marathon distance, you've already concurred a half, so you're almost there.
Second, get a game plan. By utilizing the awesome runner resources available to you via the runDisney website, and, of course, through the Disney Parks Moms Panel website, you have access to a wealth of information, such as;
Training Plans: Jeff Galloway, the official runDisney Training Consultant, offers free training schedules based on his proven run/walk method. This method not only will help reduce fatigue, but also injuries. You have to find the ratio that works for you, but I like to use a 4:1 (run 4 mins, walk 1 min) when running the 26.2 distance.
Nutrition: The official runDisney Nutritionist, Tara Gidus, has some great tips to keep you running like a well-oiled machine. Nutrition plays a huge part in the success of any race and with Tara's advice and recipes, you'll gain some great insight.
Support: Surround yourself with those that will support your goals. If you don't have access to local running clubs, Social Media channels are full of Disney running groups with runners of all levels trying to encourage on another through this journey.
I hope this information helps to ease your mind and give you a good starting point, Jimmy! Please do not hesitate to ask me any additional questions you may have. You'll be forever changed by this experience!
Happy Running!
