    Hi Faith - the Disney Cruise Castaway Cay 5K shows on the Run Disney site (http://bit.ly/1sNUGgA) as having a medal awarded to participants. However in many blogs out there, runners are claiming that medals are no longer awarded. HELP!!

    Greetings, Gary! 

    The Disney Castaway Cay 5k Challenge featured on the runDisney website is a special cruise event available to those participating in any race above a 5k during the 2015 Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna®, or any race above a 5k during the 2015 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend that is also registered for the Castaway Cay 5k Challenge.

    If you combined both the special event cruise AND a 5k race or higher during one the race weekends mentioned above, you are a Castaway Cay 5k Challenge registered participant and will receive a finishers medal.

    Are you registered for the Castaway Cay 5k Challenge or are you asking about medals given out on a standard Disney Cruise Line vacation? Please let me know so I may further clarify if needed.
