I failed to make a character dining reservation in time and now they are all booked. How often do people cancel at the last minute?? I keep checking the website but I wonder if I am wasting my time. Thank you

    Susan:

I just answered a questioned from a gentleman who found out his cancer treatment would interfere with his vacation and must cancel his trip that is less than two months out. Cancellations happen every day. The unfortunate circumstances for some guests, though, can be answers to prayers for others like you.

Also, I find that a flurry of cancellations happen around the 60- to 45-day-out window when Disney requires vacation packages to be paid in-full along with the 72- to 48-hour window of specific dates when guests must cancel a dining reservation or be charged the full price for a meal like Cinderella's Royal Table or a cancellation fee of $10 per person at a table-service restaurant. So, don't give up hope but be diligent at least around these specific windows in relation to the date you want for your dining reservation, and you might be able to book it at the last minute.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
