Hi, Amy! Thanks for bringing this great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I cannot wait to return to the magic of
Walt Disney World Resort! I was so excited when Walt Disney World Resort announced its
plans for reopening, and I take great comfort in knowing that the health and safety of Guests and Cast Members is their top priority.
To help Guests safely return to The Most Magical Place on Earth, all Guests ages 2 and up, as well as Cast Members, will be required to wear
face coverings when visiting Walt Disney World Resort. Guests should bring their own face coverings with them and wear them at all times, except when dining or swimming. According to the guidelines on the Walt Disney World website, all face coverings should:
- Fully cover an individual’s nose and mouth and allow the Guest to remain hands-free
- Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
- Be secured with ties or ear loops
- Be made of breathable material, either disposable or reusable
Amy, I
called and spoke to a Guest Services Cast Member. She was able to verify that your face covering must be a mask. Face shields will not be considered appropriate face coverings.
If you're looking for some cute Disney face masks to wear for your upcoming visit,
shopDisney has a great selection in a variety of styles and sizes. I ordered several sets for my family. My daughter was so excited to see that the Star Wars set had a mask featuring The Child from
The Mandalorian. We are big fans of "Baby Yoda" in my house! We will be wearing our masks when we return to Walt Disney World Resort because "This is the way."
As you plan your next visit to Walt Disney World Resort, be sure to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog and the
updates on the Walt Disney World website for all of the latest news and announcements regarding reopening procedures. If you have any additional questions, please visit us again.
May the Force be with you!
Samantha
