Hello Aimee!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with an excellent question!
I also have a picky eater at home so I understand your concerns. However, your son is indeed considered an adult and will be expected to order from the adult menu at all dining locations. You may talk to your server to see if it is possible to order one meal from the kids’ menu, however I don’t believe that this would be a wise choice, as you will have already paid for an adult meal that costs more. Even if you were able to order two kids’ meals, I still don’t think you would be getting the most for your money.
What I suggest for picky eaters is making reservations at buffet restaurants. This will give your son many options, including selections from the kids’ stations. Some of the locations I recommend are The Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom Park, Hollywood & Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Tusker House Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Biergarten Restaurant and Garden Grill Restaurant at Epcot. Disney Resort hotels also offer great options such as Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, 1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Boma – Flavors of Africa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Cape May Cafe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. All of these locations require one Disney Dining Plan entitlement per Guest, and most offer character dining experiences to maximize your fun!
Reservations are highly recommended so start planning as soon as possible. You can book your favorite restaurants
online, using the My Disney Experience mobile app, or calling (407) 939-3463.
Thank you for stopping by, Aimee! I hope this helps you plan magical dining adventures for your family.
Best magical wishes,
Thiana
