Hi there, Steve, and welcome to planDisney!
Although the temperatures are still warm,
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is underway and the Mickey-shaped pumpkins are on display. Your October trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth will be here before you know it, so let's get right to your question!
When my husband and I first began visiting Walt Disney World Resort as adults, we were determined to spend as much time in the theme parks as possible, so we exclusively stayed in Disney Value Resort hotels. After all, we were only sleeping there, and all Disney Resort hotels are incredibly themed and have access to
complimentary transportation regardless of price point. However, in recent years we have embraced the Disney Deluxe Resort life, and I may never be able to stay elsewhere. The incredible locations, larger rooms, variety of dining options, and fantastic swimming pools have me just as excited to spend time at our hotel as I am to be in the theme parks. Earlier this month we splurged on a theme park view room at
Disney's Contemporary Resort, and it was such a treat to enjoy
Happily Ever After from our balcony and then head straight to bed.
Although I enjoyed our earlier evenings on our recent vacation, my favorite benefit of staying in a Disney Deluxe Resort requires a late night.
Extended Evening Theme Park Hours are available on select nights exclusively for Guests of Deluxe Resorts and a few select others. This benefit was incredibly useful in the warm summer months because it enabled us to return to our hotel during the hottest parts of the day but still enjoy our favorite attractions (with less wait) once the sun was down and the theme park was closed to other Guests. Extended Evening Hours also have an exclusive 6 PM
Virtual Queue for select attractions. My husband and I were once able to enjoy Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind three times in a single day via the 7 AM Virtual Queue, purchase of a
Lightning Single Pass, and the 6 PM Virtual Queue. Talk about a day that was truly out of this world!
The timing of Extended Evening Theme Park Hours varies according to the day's theme park hours, so you'll want to check the
Hours & Events Calendar for the dates and times during your vacation. There is currently only one date for Extended Evening Hours during your vacation, so I suggest checking back closer to your arrival date to see if any adjustments are made to the calendar.
I hope this information was helpful, Steve. If you have any additional questions about your upcoming vacation, feel free to
send them my way. I'm always happy to help!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
