Extended family trip to Disney this Nov courtesy of Gma staying at AK!!! My DD (2) and I will arrive 2 days early. Thinking of AOA LM room  Better options with less walking? Also, can adults ride the slide with small children?

    Hi Lori,

When we stayed at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, we were staying in a Cars Family Suite because my little guy LOVES Lightning McQueen. I took the time to explore the Resort’s grounds and I was pretty surprised by how far away from the main building (including bus transportation) the Little Mermaid section seemed to be.

Unless your daughter is a big Ariel fan, I would recommend instead either staying at Disney’s Pop Century Resort or, if you can spend a little bit more on your two days, staying at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. It’s a much more intimate Resort, with everything pretty close together. Your feet will thank you for not having to push a stroller any further at the end of the day!

As for riding the slides at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, unfortunately, you won’t be able to ride them with your little one in your lap. The last time that my family and I stayed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, they didn’t let our little guy ride the “big” slide with us. That being said, there is a “little” slide available at Samawati Springs Pool at nearby Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village, as well as an amazing splash pad area called Uwanja Camp.

    Have a Magical Day,
