Hi Symantha,
Welcome to planDisney!
I am thrilled to see you planning a visit to the Walt Disney World® Resort with a larger group. Given the size of your group and the age ranges, I would definitely suggest that you stay at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel that has multiple transportation options. My first suggestion would be resort hotels with access to
Walt Disney World® Monorail Transportation. Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa all have access to the resort monorail. Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are also within walking distance of Magic Kingdom. My family loves being able to walk back to the room after the
Happily Ever Fireworks at Magic Kingdom.
Other options would be Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Disney's Beach Club Resort, and Disney's BoardWalk Inn. These are all within walking distance of EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Disney's Hollywood Studios is a further walk than the walk to EPCOT but the good news is that these resort hotels also have access to
Disney Skyliner transportation. Also consider villas or suites. When we took our girls on their first trip to Walt Disney World, my parents came with us and we stayed at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa in a 2 Bedroom Villa with two bathrooms and a full kitchen. We had such a lovely time in the villa. That time together was priceless.
Each of these resort hotels are beautifully decorated during the
Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort. My family loves the dining options at all of the resorts with monorail access. Chef Mickey's and California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort are fantastic. 'Ohana and Kona Cafe at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort are yummy and we are excited to visit 1900 Park Fare at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa on our upcoming visit since it just recently reopened! The activities and amenities at these resorts are terrific, perfect for keeping the family together.
Symantha, take some time to review the amenities at each resort and then do some initial comparison pricing online. Keep your eye on the
Special Offers to see if any new ones emerge prior to your visit. I understand how important it is to consider everyone's budget as you pick a resort hotel. Sending you a little extra pixie dust trusting you will pack your patience as you plan!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
