Our extended family of 12, ages 14 to 77, are going on the dream in April. We were looking into the Dolphin Cay Shallow Water Interaction & Aquaventure. My question is about Aquaventure, is there anything besides the water park to do?

    Hi Jamie!
What fun to have 12 family members onboard to experience the magic of a Disney Cruise Line vacation. I'm so excited about all the memories you're about to make!

When we cruised to Nassau, my family chose the Atlantis Dolphin Cay Shallow Water Interaction and Aquaventure as our Port Adventure. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience! You'll spend about two hours in Dolphin Cay, which includes time to change into and out of your wet suit, and time for instructions on how to interact with the dolphins. Professional photographers will be on hand to capture your time in the water, and just maybe a kiss from a dolphin! Photos are not included with the package, but make sure to stop by the gift shop if you want to take one (or several) home! Our dolphin pics are some of my favorites ever.

You'll be amazed at the size of Aquaventure water park. With all the water slides, your teens will be in heaven! There's also a mile-long "lazy-river", which I found to be anything but lazy! It was a fun ride, with some serious rapids in certain sections. Make sure to familiarize yourself with a map of the area before you go, it's massive! Also, it's a good idea to establish a meeting place. Everyone will split up to enjoy different areas of the park, and you need to make sure you can find each other later!

There's certainly plenty more to do while visiting Atlantis. You'll have time to explore the shops, beaches, and even the casino while you're there. You can also check out the "ancient ruins" of Atlantis in The Dig, a maze of underground tunnels with lots to see. Lunch is included in the cost of this excursion, and you can choose from several locations on property.

I hope this helps! I know you're going to have the trip of a lifetime aboard Disney Cruise Line. Enjoy!
