Hi Nathan!
Capturing your magical moments at
Walt Disney World Resort is an important part of your vacation. When my family and I are enjoying a visit to The Most Magical Place On Earth, I rely on the
Disney PhotoPass Service. This service features professional photographers stationed throughout the parks to capture all your families’ magical moments. With the
Memory Maker option, Guests have unlimited access to download and share these photos, making it easy to relive your Disney adventures for years.
According to the
Walt Disney World Resort Rules and Prohibited Items list, items like selfie sticks and extension poles are prohibited in parks. Tripods or monopod stands that don't fit inside a standard backpack or extend over 182 cm are also prohibited. Since a gimbal is considered a monopod and can fit inside a backpack, it should be allowed. I've seen many Guests use gimbals without issue, as they are a small extension of your hand and are less likely to interfere with other Guests' experiences than selfie sticks.
To be safe, I recommend showing your gimbal to security or Cast Members upon entering the parks. You can explain that its primary purpose is stabilizing your phone for photos and videos rather than serving as a selfie stick or extension pole.
I hope this answers your question, Nathan, and I hope you have a fantastic visit!
Happy filming!
Brent
