Disney's Magical Express

If express airport transportation is cancelled for 2022, how are visitors supposed to get from the airport to the resort and back again?

Hey there, Donna. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. I see that you have a trip planned to the Most Magical Place on Earth early next year. That's going to be a fun way to kick off 2022!

Donna, it is a bummer that Disney is no longer going to be offering Disney's Magical Express service between Walt Disney World and the airport. It definitely was a convenient way to get back and forth! However, there are a lot of other options to choose from to get you to where you want to go. My favorite option, even now with the complimentary shuttle, is actually to use a ride-share service. I find this is the quickest and a fairly economical way to go. Ride-share services can pick you up and drop you off right in front of your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel's lobby. The price between the two major companies is pretty comparable but I do always like to check both apps because sometimes there is a special or discount code. I know that some people aren't super comfortable using a ride-share service so a taxi is a similar concept and there are plenty to choose from at the airport but I find that the fare can be a little bit more expensive. Another option is to hire a car service to pick you up at the airport. Car options range between a town car, SUV, passenger van and if you really want to arrive in style - a limousine! Hiring a car to be waiting for you I think is a more expensive option but it is convenient. A quick internet search will turn up several companies in the area that offer this service. Disney's Magical Express service was actually contracted out to a company called MEARS, with Walt Disney World canceling the service, they have said that they will also be offering a similar service. I checked out their website and this seems to be true. You can book the service starting early next year.

So, as you can see, there are plenty of options to get you over to Walt Disney World for your vacation next year. You'll just have to budget a little bit extra to get you over there. If you have any other questions before your vacation, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help!

    Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
