    Could you explain the pin trading to a first time visitor? My friend suggested picking up "cheaper" pins for trading but online I didn't think the price was "cheap". Is this something worth doing with a 5 yr old girl & almost 9 yr

    Hi Lori!

    Picking up some pins that are on sale or clearance (at The Disney Store, for example) would be a big help, as some pins can be $10+ a pin, so it can add up quickly.  There are also great 'starter' sets that are wonderful for those just getting started.

    Pins are traded one-for-one and must be official pins with metal backs.  There is also accepted pin-trading etiquette that is followed by those trading pins. 

    I think pin trading would be great for your almost 9 year old.  Many of the younger kids don't get the finer points of trading, but she might want to start a lanyard of her own and maybe start trading somewhere down the line.
