Hey-Howdy-Hey, Emily! Welcome to planDisney--so glad you stopped by! You've got a friend in me, and I'm here to help make your visit to
Walt Disney World Resort as magical as can be.
We are big fans of the All-Star Resorts. These Value hotels--Movies, Music, and Sports--offer comfortable accommodations, fun details connected to the theme, and excellent pools and food courts! I have a stay booked there this fall with a couple of planDisney pals for a quick getaway--it's a great choice.
For your stay at
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort (or any Disney Resort Hotel), you can take advantage of the convenient
Online Check-In Service at any time before your arrival day. This allows you to bypass the Front Desk and go straight to your room! We had a trip earlier this year and due to flight delays, we didn't get to our hotel until close to midnight--I was really grateful I had already checked in.
There are a few things you'll need to have in place so you can use this feature. First, make sure that you have downloaded the
My Disney Experience app and linked your hotel reservation. Once you've done this, start on the home screen of the app and scroll down. You will see your reservation listed with a button that says "Start Check-In-Now". You can provide a phone number and email address to receive notifications for your stay, including your room number and when your room is ready.
During the Online Check-In process, you'll also be asked to provide an estimated arrival time and enter a credit card to cover any balance due on arrival and incidental expenses. You can also enter room requests, such as a ground floor room or a King-sized bed. I usually select the option to prioritize having my room ready as early as possible over any other requests!
Once you have these details entered, you will see a confirmation screen--make sure you double-check all of your details before clicking "I Agree". After completing this step, you're all set!
One more thing to keep in mind--since you aren't checking in at the Front Desk, you will need to have a
MagicBand with you to enter your room, or you can use your phone to unlock the door through the My Disney Experience app. From the home screen, find your reservation again and click on "My Resort". You will see an option that says "Unlock Door", which will be available to you once you receive the notification on arrival day that your room is ready. We often stop by the Front Desk at some point to get a physical room key to have as a backup!
Emily, I am sure you are going to have a practically perfect Disney vacation--I hope this info helps make your check-in seamless so you can dive straight into the fun! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, and please reach out again anytime if we can help with additional questions.
See Ya Real Soon!
