Could you explain more about lightening lanes, genie + etc. The last time we went we were able to have 3 fast passes a day included. Is this still a thing? Visited in 2016 for our honeymoon, now we will be visiting with our children. Their 1st time!

Hey, howdy, hey, Clare! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you stopped by today to chat about your return visit to the magic - how exciting to be planning a first visit for your very own mouseketeers - be sure to grab a complimentary 1st Visit celebration button from Guest Relations when you arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort so everyone can share in your special celebration!

Clare, from Fast Pass to Genie+ and now Lightning Lane Multi Pass, the evolution of this product (and its name) has changed over the years, but the magical ability to plan for faster access to some of the most popular attractions remains the same. Let's dive into the details so you'll be ready for your visit!

With Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Guests now have the opportunity to plan and book ahead of their visit for Lightning Lane entries on select attractions in each theme park. This is now a paid service that allows Guests to pre-select 3 attractions per day with a reserved entry time. Currently, Guests within the United States and Canada who are staying at a Disney Resort hotel or other select hotels can book these experiences up to 7 days before their check-in date for the length of their stay, and Guests staying off-site can begin booking up to 3 days ahead of their park visit. At this time, international Guests outside of the United States and Canada will not be able to book these experiences in the My Disney Experience mobile app until they have arrived in the United States. Once you have arrived in the States, as long as you are within your booking window, you can make your selections!

Clare, as you begin to explore this product, it's important to note that all the theme parks except Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park use a grouping system for Lightning Lane selections. At Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT, you will be able to select one attraction from group 1 and two additional attractions from group 2; or you may select all three from group 2. I'd recommend taking a look at the included attractions and experiences ahead of time so you can decide which ones you'd like to choose when the time comes.

In addition to Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Guests can choose to purchase up to two Lightning Lane Single Pass attractions per day for an additional fee. These are offered for select attractions in each theme park, currently including TRON Lightcycle/Run and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom Park, Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Clare, I know this is a lot to take in; there is some helpful information and frequently asked questions on the Lightning Lane Multi Pass page that will help walk you through the process and answer any additional questions you might have. Of course, you're always welcome to come back to planDisney with any follow-up questions as well! We're all ears and ready to help you navigate the magic that awaits!

    Happy Planning,
    Alison
