Can you explain more about how to do the following without a MagicBand? We are staying at a non-Disney resort (Swan). - entry to parks - photopass - fastpass use/ride entry

    Hi Melanie,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question, my fellow Canadian!

I’ve had the chance to stay at the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel before and it really was a wonderful hotel, especially considering the fact that you’re still in the heart of the Magic, with easy access to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot.

The way that a stay at a non-Disney Resort Hotel works is that you’ll automatically get an Admission Card that will be linked to your My Disney Experience account. That card will then allow you to use any Theme Park Tickets and FastPass+ selections associated with your account by tapping it for entry at the Theme Park and attraction of your choice.

You’ll also be able to scan that card for any Disney PhotoPass pictures you may choose to take (if you haven’t already purchased it, I highly recommend adding Memory Maker to your vacation). Basically, the only difference between that Admission Card and a MagicBand is the fact that it doesn’t fit on your wrist and doesn’t come in a bunch of cute designs! Of course, you can always choose to purchase a MagicBand during your visit and use that instead of your card.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,
