Neha from ON Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Could you explain the different between a dining plan and dining at a restaurant?

    Hi Neha, welcome to planDisney!

You bring up a great question, and I will do my best to clarify!

The Disney Dining Plans were offered at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida before the pandemic, and have not returned since. They used to allow you to purchase pre-paid meals, giving you flexible options and specialty beverages depending on the dining plan you chose. Disney Dining Plans are currently not offered at the Disneyland Resort.

When dining at the Disneyland Resort, you have a few different options. First and foremost, you can book dining reservations at certain locations up to 60 days in advance of your arrival date. A few of my favorite places to dine are River Belle Terrace and Carnation Café at Disneyland Park. In addition, I also highly recommend Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel. This is a super fun Character Dining experience that my kids loved when we visited!

Now dining reservations tend to book quickly, so if you're unable to book any, don't worry, you have more options! Quick Service dining options are available, and these do not require reservations. Most of these actually offer Mobile Ordering through the Disneyland Mobile app, which is super convenient. We use Mobile Ordering all the time and I highly recommend you try it out on your visit!

Hopefully, I was able to provide some clarity, but if you have any additional, questions, please visit us again!

    See ya real soon!
