Hiya Sean - welcome to
planDisney!
It's always a bummer when a Disney vacation doesn't go as planned - I know from experience! The good news is that in many cases there are ways for Mickey to help you plan for a future trip.
Sean, I'm not sure what type of existing "expired" reservation you are referring to, and for that reason, I am going to suggest that you
call and speak to a Cast Member about your needs or follow up with us here at planDisney with more details. I recommend that you have any documentation, including any reservation or confirmation numbers from your previous plans handy so the Cast Member can more easily help you. If your existing reservation is from another Disney offering, such as Disneyland Resort or Disney Cruise Line, I would contact them first.
You see, Sean, there are many different types of reservations:
Theme Parks,
Dining,
Disney Resorts Collection hotels, the
Enchanting Extras Collection, and more. And that's just at the
Walt Disney World Resort in Florida! These reservations all have their own unique Terms & Conditions that apply, so the answer to your question will depend on what your original plans were and what you're trying to plan now. For example, if you are asking about Theme Park Tickets, I would be able to share the magical news that the value of most unused tickets can be applied to the purchase of new tickets!
I hope you're able to plan a magical new vacation soon, Sean -
stop by with more questions any time!
Ryan J.
