    Hi Charlotte,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m so excited that you’re voyaging across the great ocean to visit the Happiest Place on Earth! When planning your awesome vacation, it’s important to know what might be closed so you can plan accordingly and avoid disappointment. I’m happy to share some tips on where you can find this information.

I recommend checking the Daily Events Schedule to see what might be closed during your trip. You can usually view the calendar up to 40 days in advance, so be sure to check back on October 3rd to see what's scheduled to be open. You can access this online or through the Disneyland mobile app.

On the Disneyland website, pull up the Daily Events Schedule and switch to Day View. Scroll down to the “Closed for Refurbishment” section to see which attractions will be unavailable.

If you're using the Disneyland app, tap the three bars in the bottom-right corner. Scroll down to “Park Hours & Info” under the My Visit heading. After selecting your travel dates, scroll down to see which attractions are listed as closed for refurbishment. Keep in mind that refurbishment schedules are always subject to change, so I recommend checking regularly for updates.

As one final note, your vacation falls during what I personally consider the “twilight zone” of the event calendar. Halloween is definitely over, but the Holidays haven’t quite started yet (they begin on November 14). Once November 14 hits, you’ll be able to enjoy the Christmas Fantasy Parade, the beautiful lighting ceremonies, and the “Believe… In Holiday Magic” fireworks show.

For the best use of your time, I recommend watching the second parade from “it’s a small world”. From there, you’ll be able to see the lighting ceremony, the parade, and the fireworks show—all from the same spot! As an extra treat, “it’s a small world” Holiday often has shorter wait times after the fireworks, so you’ll be in the perfect place to hop in line!

I hope this helps with your planning, Charlotte! If you have any more questions or need a little extra pixie dust, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’re always here to help make your Disney dreams come true.

    Have a magical vacation!
