Hey Howdy Hey Robin and welcome back to planDisney!
I am so excited to hear your plans for your trip later this year are filling out. Ratatouille is one of my favorite movies and
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT is a must-do for our family every time we visit EPCOT. Thank you for stopping by with your question on the specifics of parking and navigating resort transportation for your next trip. I will be happy to try to decode this situation as you have found it can be tricky!
Guests staying onsite at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel do have
complimentary self-parking and overnight parking at the resort they are booked. They also currently have availability to visit any of the other resorts for complimentary self-parking during the day. The issue with the policy is that you are free to park at any resort while you are dining, shopping or enjoying the resort entertainment. If you plan to park at a resort for the day and then visit the parks, this is not something that is allowed per the rules. In my experience visiting other resorts, security at the front gate of each resort can be super specific or fairly lenient. I have been asked to see a specific reservation on My Disney Experience app before I was allowed into the parking lot and other times my reason for "resort hopping" was all that was needed to visit. Just know, that security for the parking lots has the final say and technically can enforce tickets or even towing if the rules are violated. So while this has happened in the past with others' experiences, it is also something that is technically not allowed per the rules of parking at other resorts. I would
agree with Heather in her response that to be safe, you should try to avoid this scenario.
I am sure you are aware that you have
complimentary theme park parking during your stay. You also have access to the many options when it comes to
Resort Transportation that can get you around the property on your upcoming trip. If you do want a quicker and more direct option for transportation and do not have to worry about parking, you might want to look into
Minnie Vans connected by Lyft. You can request a Minnie Van through your Lyft app to pick you up, drop you off at Disney's Beach Club Resort and then walk to the International Gateway for Early Entry.
I am sorry for the confusion around this question. Our goal is to provide you with the best advice based on the current rules and policies Disney sets throughout the resort which do change from time to time and will change our advice. We want you to have the best experience for your upcoming trip and hope this advice helps guide you on your options for your upcoming trip. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions, we are always happy to help!
Have a Magical day,
Nick
