We are experienced Disney visitors but it has been a while and things have changed. We have Park Hopper tickets but want to be sure we can ride Pandora and the Rise of the Resistance. Any thoughts on which to visit first or how to get fast passes?

Yoo Hoo, Stephanie, and welcome to planDisney!

"For the First Time in Forever" you'll be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth. You'll be thrilled to hear that "Some Things Never Change." Many of your favorite attractions, snacks, and souvenirs are still around (even if they now have a bit of a twist). But, yes, there have been many changes in recent years. For example, the Disney Genie+ Service is a bit of a "Fixer Upper" for the phased-out FastPass. I'll shelf the Frozen references (for now), so that we can come up with a game plan for your upcoming visit.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Avatar Flight of Passage are two of the best attractions at Walt Disney World Resort. With a 1-Day theme park ticket with a Park Hopper Option, you can most definitely get both done with the time you have.

First, in order to check off these two attractions, you won't need Disney Genie+ Service (although this is a very useful service and you can find the list of attractions that utilize this on this webpage). Instead, purchase two Individual Lightning Lanes when you wake up for your magical day. Guests are limited to buying two Individual Lightning Lanes a day, which works out perfectly for your plan. If you're staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you can buy them in the My Disney Experience App at 7 a.m. If you're staying off property, grab them as soon as each theme park opens.

Regardless if you decide to ride the attractions using the standby queue or the Lightning Lane, I would prioritize riding Avatar Flight of Passage because Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park tends to open earlier than Disney's Hollywood Studios. So, if you get to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park a bit before the theme park opens, you'll be among the first to ride and with a lower wait time.

Then, you can park hop to Disney's Hollywood Studios to enter the world of Batuu, the home of Star Wars Rise of the Resistance. And I have great news! By the time of your visit, Guests will be able to park hop at any time of the day similar to how it may have been when you last visited. For context: At the moment, you have to wait until 2 p.m. Stephanie, I love that you'll have the flexibility to park hop as you please.

AN EXTRA GEM: Although you can purchase Lightning Lane access for both of these attractions, some of the coolest in-queue elements I've ever seen at a theme park are in the standby queue. The artifacts, displays, and details are out-of-this-world, especially those in the indoor section of the Avatar Flight of Passage queue. I see these experiences as an extension of the moving attraction itself.
