I want to experience Typhoon Lagoon's Shark Reef, but my guidebook says it is only open during "summer". That is a bit vague, can anyone give me a better idea of when Shark Reef typically opens and closes for the season? Thanks!

    Hi Kassie!

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your great question.

Typhoon Lagoon's fun and exciting Shark Reef is open to guests as long as the water park is open!
During peak, summer months, you'll want to visit the Reef early in the day before it gets too crowded with many snorklers.

In 2013, Typhoon Lagoon will be open from January 6th, 2013 until, most likely, the end of October. Disney's Water Parks typically close for about a 2-month maintenance and refurbishment period each year. This past season, Typhoon Lagoon closed for the season on October 28th. During each closure, the alternate water park remains open for Guests' enjoyment. Disney's Blizzard Beach will be closed for refurbishment on January 6th 2013, until mid-March.

I hope you'll write me back again with more questions about your next visit! I'd love to hear from you again.

Wishing you a splish-splashing, Magical time when you visit Disney's Water Parks during your next visit Kassie!
