Hi there, Theresa!
We would want nothing more than for your daughter to have an absolutely magical vacation at
Walt Disney World, and I absolutely want you to know that if your daughter would feel more comfortable with her
service dog by her side, then she should bring her.
My husband is legally blind and had a service dog for years. We brought Lusi on two trips with us to Walt Disney World, and it really worked pretty well. For the most part, people know that your dog is working, and they give you a little space as you move around the park. Your dog can use any outdoor area for relief, as long as you clean up after her, and there are also special areas throughout the theme parks. It can get tricky with some of the attractions. Service dogs are permitted on some things, but either limited or completely restricted at others. You can use
Rider Switch for those attractions, so everyone gets to ride. And portable water bowls are a must!
I also want to mention Best Friends Pet Care. Located just outside of the Disney Springs area, they offer a day camp program, so if there is a day or two during your stay that you want to give your dog a break, you can look into the day camp option.
Disney also offers some additional
services for guests with hearing disabilities. There may be something that will help make the trip easier for your daughter, with or without her dog.
Wishing you an amazing and magical Walt Disney World vacation!
Anna
