Hey, Cynthia and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I absolutely loved spending New Year's Eve at Walt Disney World Resort. We shared the day in two theme parks. First at Disney's Hollywood Studios then rang in the New Year at Epcot. The big celebrations are at Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot. While the crowds may seem intimidating, Disney magically makes the experience easy for kids of all ages. Information about
New Year's Eve 2020 events will be released later in the year.
At Epcot, we enjoyed a spectacular viewing of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth as well as New Year's Countdown Fireworks at Epcot. Fireworks originating from and saluting each country around the World Showcase light up the sky leaving a memory I will never forget. Possibly returning next year is the rockin' Silent Groove, a DJ dance party located near Future World Fountain Stage. Each participant placed headphones on and danced the night away to their favorite tunes. Passerbys have no idea what music is playing. The glowing headphones seemed to place me in a virtual reality world with Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz.
At Magic Kingdom Park, Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks entertained Guests twice with an early and late showing. The early fireworks spectacular was at 6:30 PM so little Mouseketeers could see them before they drifted off to Neverland. Tomorrowland and Frontierland had dance parties all the way up till midnight.
Disney Dad Tip: I would follow the Disney Parks Blog to keep connected to the latest events at the theme parks. Do not theme park hop in the late afternoon on New Year's Eve. Pick a theme park and stay. Last year during the day Magic Kingdom Park closed to additional Guests from about 11:30 AM till 5:15 PM.
Cynthia, enjoy making many Magical Memories.
