Expedition Everest sounds like a-lot of fun. If we register, it'll be our first. What kind of "obstacles" are included in the race? I want to be prepared for what lies ahead, especially since my kids (10 and 12) are also interested.

Hi Janette! You are right, the Expedition Everest is a lot of fun!  The 5K obstacle course is actually different every year, but here are some examples of what the obstacles have been in the past:
Walls to climb over, nets to crawl under, beams to walk on, hay bail hurdles and also some tires to go through.
It actually became more of a "mud run" one year due to all of the rain!  The distance will be more than a 5K once you include the scavenger hunt part, but you will be having so much fun, you won't even notice.  Here is the Expedition Everest information on the runDisney website.  You can find more details there.  The medals look like a compass, so your kids will love them!  Let me know if I can help you in any other way!
