Hey there, Kathleen! The Christmas season is approaching and you're smart to start thinking about how to navigate the parks during this time.
Visiting
Magic Kingdom on a day when
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is happening does look a little different if you don’t have party tickets.
If you’re in the park that day with just a regular ticket, you can expect Magic Kingdom to close a bit earlier than usual, which is typically at 6:00pm for day guests. After that time, only guests with party wristbands will be able to enjoy the park and its special offerings. That means no access to the party-exclusive parade, stage shows, holiday fireworks, or character meet-and-greets without a separate ticket.
But no worries, Kathleen! You’ll still get to enjoy the park in the hours leading up to the party. I’d plan to arrive early so you can get the most out of your day. Sometimes the mornings and early afternoons are less crowded on party days since many people choose to skip Magic Kingdom that day altogether. It can be a great time to knock out those popular rides, like
Tron Lightcycle/ Run,
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and
Space Mountain, before the evening.
After 6:00 pm, you’ll need to head out, but that’s the perfect chance to hop over to another park, if you’ve got the
Park Hopper option, or maybe enjoy a nice
dinner at one of the resorts. My tip is to look at it as an opportunity to do something special outside of the park once you’ve wrapped up the fun at Magic Kingdom.
