Hi! I am an expectant first time mom and a Disney-phile. I would love to celebrate my child's first birthday at WDW, but I am concerned that they will be too young. Will a 1 year old "have fun" in the parks, or will they just be "along for the ride?"

    Hi Laura!

Congratulations on the birth of your first child!  Walt Disney World is the best place on earth to celebrate your child's birthday!  I am of the opinion that kids are never too young to go to Walt Disney World!  You will be starting to make Disney memories with your child and whether or not they remember your Walt Disney World vacation, you will have those precious memories to hold on to forever.  I would encourage you to take lots of photos during your vacation and have Disney's PhotoPass Photographers take pictures of your family as well so that you can share them with your child in the years to come. You may not be able to ride a bunch of rides, but take your time with the Disney characters and explore the fun play areas in the Parks.  If you find something that your child is interested in as you tour the Parks, then take some time to let them explore and discover what they are interested in.  Often for young children, the pool at your Resort may be the highlight of your vacation for them!  I would also recommend heading back to your Resort for naps in the middle of the day and try to stick to your child's normal schedule on your vacation as much as possible.

I hope that your passion for Disney is transferred to your child and that you make magical memories together in Walt Disney World for years to come!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
