What to expect on May 27 at Disneyland 2025? Does Disneyland do fireworks before closing early for Grad Nites? Is there anything else happening May 27th to be aware of?

Greetings, Ashley, and welcome to planDisney! The countdown to your Disneyland Resort visit has begun! Can you already smell the churros and hear the Disneyland Band performing?

First, let's talk a little about Grad Nite. As you mentioned, there will be a Grad Nite event on May 27. That means California Adventure will close a little earlier than usual, at 9 p.m. However, there will still be one showing of World of Color Happiness. Disneyland's hours are not affected by Grad Nite – it will be open until 11 p.m. There are a few different Grad Nite ticket types, and all of them include admission to California Adventure, either just for the event or for the full day. One option includes the ability to park hop to Disneyland. Both parks may feel a bit busy at certain points of the day, but I still think you can have a wonderful time!

Ashley, on May 27, you can expect an array of nighttime entertainment at Disneyland. The Hours & Events Calendar currently lists the following shows, all of which are amazing:

    • Paint the Night: More than one million brilliant LED lights will illuminate the parade route, featuring glowing floats, performers, and Disney Characters.
    • Fantasmic!: A classic show where Mickey saves the day with the power of his imagination – don't miss the finale!
    • Shadows of Memory: An immersive projection show highlighting some of the most iconic moments in the story of the Skywalkers.
    • Wondrous Journeys: A special projection show with fireworks on select nights that honors the legacy of Disney animated classics.
Keep in mind that shows are subject to cancellation without notice due to weather or other circumstances. Take a look at the schedules and create a plan for what you'd like to see and where you need to be. If there's a show you're particularly interested in, I recommend checking out the available dining packages, which come with a meal and premium viewing for a specific show.

Ashley, get ready for an extra festive atmosphere, because you'll be visiting just after the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration kicks off. You'll be able to explore exclusive merchandise, new food and drink options, special entertainment, and more.

If you have any questions ahead of your trip, Ashley, please let us know. We at planDisney are always happy to help!

    Wishing you magic,
