What should we expect on the holiday cruise. We are on the Miami Caribbean Dec /29 departure will it be cold on deck in the evenings? Will the ship have holiday parties since it will be after Xmas?

    Hi Jacqueline!

Sailing the high seas with Captain Mickey for a post-holiday vacation? Brilliant idea! Let’s get you all set so you will be totally prepared for the Disney Magic, all the amazing onboard activities and the weather.

Historically, the average daily temperatures in December in The Bahamas (where Castaway Cay is located) range from 70 to 80 degrees. As for Cozumel, the average high is 82 degrees and the average low is 71 degrees. With the trade winds that blow in those destinations, that makes for some comfortable conditions. I always pack a couple of long sleeve lightweight jackets for the evenings so that I feel comfortable when outside on deck.

As far as the holiday parties, I’m sure there will still be plenty of festivities onboard, though they may be transitioning from Christmas theming to more “Happy New Year” once December 25th has passed. You can find out all that’s scheduled on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.  If past cruises are any indication, the holly jolly decorations will stay up through the end of December...although I make no promises on that since I am not part of the Disney Cruise Line decorating team! By the way, I have seen photos of the gorgeous 24-foot Christmas tree gracing the Atrium and all I can say is “WOW!”

So prepare to carry that "Season's Greetings" energy onboard with you and to be surrounded by the continuing holiday spirit until you welcome in 2022 onboard...what fun! Here’s to an amazing cruise with your loved ones and a marvelous start to the New Year!

    ChEARs!
