Hi Kathleen,
Welcome to planDisney! I am so excited that you have plans to visit the Walt Disney World Resort!
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort holds special memories for my husband and me because we stayed here on our last solo trip before taking our girls on their first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. It sounds like you are planning a great split stay! You should be able to modify the Caribbean Beach Resort reservation to include only the days you plan to stay there. Once you modify that reservation, you will need to make a new reservation for Disney's Yacht Club Resort provided there is availability. To modify the reservation, log into
My Disney Experience, click on My Plans, and then scroll to find your dining reservation confirmation details. From there, if your reservation can be modified online, you should see an option to change it!
Keep in mind that, currently, with a spit stay, you will have different
dining window reservation dates. So you will not be able to make your dining reservations for the entire stay when the first dining reservation window opens. You can make your
Disney Park Pass system reservations for your entire visit, so go ahead and do so once you make that resort hotel reservation and
link your theme park tickets in My Disney Experience.
My family just returned from doing a spit stay at Disney's Yacht Club Resort and Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. We loved the room at Disney's Yacht Club Resort and, of course,
Stormalong Bay was fantastic! Our girls loved the water slide and the lazy river. Just be sure to plan accordingly and, if you plan to spend a few hours there, get there early to grab some chairs.
We also adore Disney's Yacht Club Resort because it is within walking distance to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios as well as several great restaurants. We dined at
Ale & Compass Restaurant for breakfast on our arrival day, then checked into our room and walked over to Disney's Hollywood Studios. The walk was lovely but the summer heat was quite toasty, so just keep that in mind when choosing your transportation options!
Kathleen, when you are ready to transfer, remember that Bell Services will transfer your luggage between resorts but they will not transfer perishable items. On the day we transferred, my child still had yogurt so the Cast Members at Disney's Yacht Club were able able to store it for us while we went to the park. My daughter and I walked back to get it and then caught a Lyft to the new resort while my husband and other daughter caught the bus from Disney's Hollywood Studios to the new resort. Since our one daughter has significant food allergies we have to bring snacks we know she can eat, so I was glad the resort hotel Cast Members could store it for us while our luggage was being transferred and until we could get back to pick it up!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
