Hello, Alex! Thank you for coming by to visit with us for help with your question.
Walt Disney World has consistently been monitoring the best way to keep guests safe and healthy since reopening, and at this time,
face masks are required by all guests ages two and over in all indoor locations. There are no exemptions to the mask requirement, however, masks are not required anywhere outdoors.
Alex, I have learned much from my fellow panelist,
Jacqueline when it comes to being the practically perfect mum to her autistic son. She recommends practicing wearing the mask at home to try and find something more tolerable or some positive reinforcement that may work. Also, try face masks with favorite characters on them to make them a little more tolerable.
There are a lot of outdoor
attractions and shows where the mask won't be necessary, so that may help, but you also want to become familiar with resources that are available to help guests with
cognitive disabilities. This may include using the
Disability Access Service, which is in place to help provide a more magical, comfortable experience for all guests.
Before I let you go, Alex, keep an eye on the
Know Before You Go information leading up to your trip. Things can change without notice, and with your trip still a few months away, the mask requirements may be different by the time you are headed out on holiday.
Please come back and see us if you have any other questions or concerns. We'd be delighted to help!
