Hi! We are so excited to come to Disney and experience Bibiddi B. Boutique! Can you share what line of hair products and makeup is used ? I would like to make sure it is safe for toddlers and non-toxic. if needed, I’d be happy to bring my own products.

    Hiya Angie,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m excited you’re bringing your toddler to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. My three-year-old experienced it in December and still talks about it. She loves Disney Princesses and dressing up, so the whole experience was magical (and brought tears to mama—bring tissues!).

Great question about the hair products, Angie. My daughter has extremely curly hair, and I am always cautious about the hair products I use so they don’t weigh her hair down. I also don’t let her wear makeup (Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique was her very first time). All the products the Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices used worked well on my daughter, but I can definitely understand wanting to do your own research. For hair products, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique currently uses products from Giovanni LA and Original Sprout (subject to change). In my research, I found that Original Sprout is specifically listed as non-toxic and pediatrician-tested, and Giovanni LA is made with natural ingredients and free of parabens. You can definitely do research beforehand, and if you are really curious, you can also request a full list of the ingredients in all the hair products during the experience. One other thing I want to note is that the hair products may contain tree-nut oils, but our Fairy Godmother’s Apprentice asked me to verify whether we're okay with them before putting them in my daughter’s hair. If you aren’t, you can request alternative hair products that do not contain tree nut oils, so no worries! Now let’s chat, makeup. Other than selecting her dress, this part of the experience was my three-year-old’s favorite. The cosmetic palates are specifically designed for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and are much harder to find online, but I have my daughter’s palate (you get to take it, the nail polish, and the hair combs home with you) in my hands right now. The palate is formulated for children aged 3 and older, so it is generally considered safe, but the ingredient list is way too long to include here! My advice is to bring spare makeup if you have a preferred brand, and then ask to see the palette when you arrive. My toddler didn’t have any sensitivities, even after wearing it all day, but I also made sure to clean her face, even though it was applied lightly at the end of the day.

I hope this was helpful, Angie. This experience was really incredible, and I am so happy you got to share it with your daughter. Before I let you go, once your little one’s makeover begins in the grand salon, a PhotoPass photographer will be walking around taking photos throughout the experience. While I did take a handful on my phone, we also got a lot of incredible photos from the photographers. The photos are included as part of the experience, so it was really an amazing little bonus. If you need anything else, please come back and see us.

    Happy Planning,
