    So excited,coming 11/1/13!! Staying at Ft Wilderness Cabins..want to decorate outside. Any ideas of easy things to bring w/o taking too much room in suitcases? Is there is a flag holder oustide? Want to put a Patriot flag up for the game on Sunday. THX!

    Hi Jodi-Ann! The cabins are a fun location to add some decorations to your site. There isn't a flag holder provided on the cabins but you are welcome to put a pole into the ground if it is possible. We haven't had any rain in a few weeks so the ground is very hard.....perhaps a thin stick would go in but nothing really thick at this time.

    When we decorate the cabins we enjoy putting a string or two of lights around the top railing. There is a double plug located on the deck so you can easily plug the light strands into that. There are also four windows in the main living area inside that can be seen from the road so we try to put something up in those windows to make it more festive. It is nice as they are protected from the weather by adhering things to the inside of the window versus the outside.

    Decorating is certainly accepted but make sure whatever you use to put things up is easily removed without making marks or changes in the walls, etc. Be creative and  have fun.

    We are also a big football family and if you have time stop by loop 600 to see our display for this year in the campsites. If you have an inflatable you might also consider bringing something small that can fit in your suitcase since there are power plugs outside at each cabin.

    We will be heading home for our big game on Monday night this week and back Tuesday so hoping to find a Patriot display in the cabin area when we return on the 5th!
