Hello! I am so excited to be visiting the Disneyland Resort in September of this year! I am hoping to find out if Paint the Night will continue through the Halloween season or if it will pause like the Pixar Better Together parade.

Hello, Laura, and welcome to planDisney! It's so exciting that you are making the trip over to Southern California to experience the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration! With the anniversary festivities in full swing and Halloween Time adding its own spellbinding charm, you're in for a truly memorable experience this September.

Unfortunately, Laura, it's a little too early to know exactly what shows will be on the schedule in September. We do know that select entertainment for the 70th Anniversary will temporarily pause to make way for seasonal offerings. For example, I expect the Halloween Screams show to take the place of the Wondrous Journeys nighttime spectacular during Halloween Time.

I share your excitement about Paint the Night – it's one of my favorite parades ever, and I haven't seen it since 2015! We'll know whether or not it will continue during Halloween Time once the Hours & Events Calendar is updated to reflect dates in mid-August and September. The daily entertainment schedules usually appear 60 days in advance. I recommend checking that calendar in mid-July or August. You might also want to follow the Disney Parks Blog and the Disneyland Instagram account for updates.

I also wanted to mention that there will be a dining package for Paint the Night. I am really excited about this. With this package, you'd enjoy a delicious meal from Plaza Inn and receive a voucher for reserved viewing of the dazzling parade. Dining reservations are also generally available around 60 days out, so you may want to keep an eye on that as well.

Lastly, Laura, I see that your arrival date is late September. Keep in mind that the Oogie Boogie Bash is scheduled for select nights between mid-August and Halloween. This separately ticketed event features exclusive entertainment, rare Character appearances, and treat trails. On those nights, California Adventure will close a little earlier than usual to Guests without an event ticket. It’s something to factor into your plans, or even something you might consider attending! If that's the case, keep an eye out for announcements about ticket sales.

Laura, I'm excited about all the magic that awaits you! If you think of any more questions as your trip gets closer, please send them our way. We’re always happy to help make your Disney vacation dreams come true.

    Your pal,
    Kriss
