Hiya David,
Welcome back to planDisney! We are so happy to have you here and honored to be your source for planning help for your Disney Parks vacations. I know you are going to have a splashing good time at
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Even in April, a break from the Florida sun is a must (especially this year).
Thank you for your question about flotation device use at the water parks. As you mentioned, Coast Guard-approved personal flotation devices (PFD) are permitted at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, but I wanted to double-check with a Cast Member for more information about your question. According to a Cast Member, these floatation devices are not permitted when you are plummeting down Mount May Day on
Humunga Kowabunga or past the solid red line in the
Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool.
Before I let you go, David, please do me a favor and don’t forget to stop by
Happy Landings Ice Cream during your visit. Nothing is more perfect for a day at the water park than ice cream (and that Sand Pail looks incredible). Please come back and see us if you need anything.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
