Hi, we are very excited for our visit in January. There are 5 of us, so one of us is odd man out. Will we be riding alone or with another guest? What is the typical seating for the major rides (Haunted Mansion, Thunder Mtn,etc)- 2ppl or can 3 fit? Thks

    Hi Tamilee,

I am excited for your 1st trip to WDW!

Odd man out won't be as bad as it sounds & you can take turns so it doesn't always end up being the same person. I'm assuming that are no small children in your party. On many of the major rides, you can sit 2 or 3 to a seat (i.e., Pirates of the Caribbean). Space Mtn has 2 cars that are connected & each car holds 3 guests in a linear fashion. It may be a little tight for 3 adults to sit together on Haunted Mansion & Big Thunder Mtn RR & they won't put anyone in with your solo rider.

There are a few attractions in the parks that offer single rider lines where guests are used to fill up every available seat. I'm a big fan of these when traveling without my kids as it usually cuts down on your wait time. You are split up so you won't get to ride with other members of your party.

At Animal Kingdom, Expedition Everest only holds 2 guests per car & they will put another guest in from the single rider line. Dinosaur seats 4 to a row so they will try to seat a party of 2 or 3 with your solo rider.

At Disney's Hollywood Studios, there is only 2 adults per car at Toy Story Mania & they usually don't put another rider with you. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster only holds 2 guests per car & they will put a single rider in with your solo rider. You'll all be able to ride Tower of Terror together.

At Epcot, only 4 people will fit in a ride vehicle at Mission: Space & you could go 2 & 3 if you'd like. They will try to fill in the empty spaces. You'll all be able to ride Soarin' together. You'll all be able to ride Test Track which has seats 6 & they will fill in your empty seat.

Allears.net is an unofficial Disney website & has pictures of many unoccupied ride vehicles. Under Theme Parks, click on the Attraction Seating Photo Gallery. Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
