We are very excited about our upcoming trip 11/30- 12/5. Chef Mickey's is the only Character Meal that we have not yet had a chance to experience, and were unable to get ADR's this trip. Do you have any tips/tricks for getting into Chef Mickey's without AD

Hey, Allison from Alabama, the beautiful!  I know you are thrilled with your Walt Disney World vacation just around the corner! And you couldn't get an Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR) for Chef Mickey's? Bummer!  Although I can't guarantee it will work, let's see if this gives you a few ideas of how to have a meal there.

I have a couple of suggestions.  First, when you arrive, call WDW Dining from your resort room everyday to see if there are any cancellations for Chef Mickey's for when you would preferably like to dine. If you're fairly flexible, I would plan to be at the restaurant either on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of your vacation about 10 minutes before 7 a.m. (when they first serve breakfast) or around 4:30 p.m. (well before the first dinner seating at 5 p.m.).  Although I've never been to Chef Mickey's without an ADR, I have been to other character meals without one and got in -- when we were the first ones at the podium before serving.

I hope this helps give you a glimmer of hope!  If you happen to be in the Magic Kingdom on the weekend of your vacation, make sure you cheer extra loud for the high school band from Alabama who is leading the Christmas parade.  The band is from my hometown! Have a beautiful Alabama day, a glorious holiday season and a magical vacation!
