We are excited to be travelling to Walt Disney World all the way from Australia! Could you please confirm whether I will be able to access the WiFi in the parks (and the My Disney Experience Mobile App) using my iPhone that has an Australian sim card?

    Hi Luke,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question. As a fellow international visitor to Walt Disney World Resort, I can totally understand wanting to explore your internet connection options and avoid any potentially scary data roaming charges!

From what I understand, your phone’s international sim card only becomes an issue if you try to access cellular service for either texting, voice calls, internet browsing or other non-Wi-Fi data usage. I’m happy to say that my Canadian iPhone is able to access Wi-Fi in the Theme Parks, Disney Springs and the various Walt Disney World Resort hotels, so you should be good to go. One tip that I’ve found helpful in order to make sure that I don’t accidentally start roaming on a cellular network in the United States: make sure that you turn “roaming” off in your phone’s cellular settings. Another option would be to keep your phone in airplane mode throughout your stay, but to turn Wi-Fi capabilities back on.

I hope my answer helps you plan your visit to Walt Disney World Resort! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
