Hiya, Steve!
Ooh! Your Disneyland Resort vacation is so close, I can smell the churros! I certainly hope that nothing gets between you and a nostalgic stroll down
Main Street, U.S.A. or an exciting visit to the
Worldwide Engineering Brigade open house. In the event that you do happen to need to postpone your visit to the Disneyland Resort, we can go over the possibilities.
If you booked a
Disneyland Resort Vacation Package that is a combination of hotel stay and theme park tickets, the terms and conditions will be listed in your confirmation email. For my most recently-booked Vacation Package, those terms indicate that amounts paid for Disney’s portions of the package are fully refundable 30 days or more before arrival, subject to a $200 cancellation fee five to 29 days before arrival, and non-refundable four or fewer days before arrival. Additional fees may apply for some third-party vendors.
If you purchased
theme park tickets, not as a part of a Vacation Package, the policy may vary depending on whether you purchased directly from Disney or from a third-party vendor. Although tickets purchased directly from Disney are non-refundable, the tickets remain valid until their expiration date. So even if you have to cancel
theme park reservations, tickets may be used to re-book park reservations for another time before the tickets expire. Note that, in most cases, partially-used multi-day tickets expire 13 days after the first day they are used, or when their general expiration date passes, or after all days of the tickets have been used, whichever comes first.
But what if you are unable to arrive at The Happiest Place on Earth this time around and your next available opportunity occurs after your theme park tickets expire? Well, not to worry, the current
terms and conditions state that a wholly-unused regular theme park ticket that has expired may have the original value paid for the ticket applied toward the purchase of a new ticket of equal or greater value. So there are flexible options available even in the worst-case situation!
I hope that you have a wonderful visit to the Disneyland Resort, Steve. I’m so glad you have already included the
Disney Genie+ service with your tickets. It’s a great way to maximize the magic of The Happiest Place on Earth. Be sure to check out the Audio Tales recordings that come complimentary with Genie+. They are a great way to learn more about the history and storytelling of your favorite lands and attractions. My
planDisney pal, Kamini, also has some great tips for how to make efficient use of the
Genie+ service to book Lightning Lane return times.
See ya real soon!
