I am excited to be taking my niece(13) and nephew(10) this summer. One is a thrill seeker and the other not so much. How can I take my niece on the thrill rides - does Disney have a "waiting" area or system set up for this situation?

    Hello Monique,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for your excellent question!

The answer will really depend on how mature your nephew is. Unfortunately, there is no designated or supervised waiting area in which he can wait while you and your niece experience some of the more thrilling attractions at Walt Disney World Resort.

If you feel that he’s mature enough to handle a short wait without you, I would recommend having him wait in line with you and your niece and then, when it comes time for you to board the attraction (once any pre-show videos or other elements are done), tell the Cast Member that he does not wish to ride with you. He’ll then be directed to an alternate way (usually a short walk) to get to that attraction’s exit area and he will then be able to wait for you there. If you do choose to do this, make sure that you “scope out” the exit area beforehand and choose a specific location where he will be able to meet you.

I hope this helps you plan your upcoming visit. Please don’t hesitate to come back and ask us any other questions you may have!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
