Hey there, Henry. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.
My family and I visit
Walt Disney World over the Christmas holiday every year. It's an amazing and magical time to be visiting. The memories we've made over the years are something that I will treasure forever. I think that you'll be happy to know that after the last
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, the regular park parade and fireworks show will change over to the holiday versions. The last party this year is December 22, 2019 which is perfect for your check in date! The
Disney Parks Blog recently had some festive updates about the 2019 holiday season including some holiday updates coming to Space Mountain, Tomorrowland Speedway, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and Mad Tea Party. While the update didn't give us too much information, it does suggest that these enhancements are only during the party. However, over the years I've noticed that more and more party extras have made their way into
Magic Kingdom Park after the parties are over like treats, specialty characters and even some dance parties. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if these holiday enhancements will be out for everyone to enjoy during Christmas week, but I can't say for sure. We've both got to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as it gets closer to Christmas for an update about this because I am certainly excited and hope I get to experience this as well.
If I could give you one tip for your Christmas trip to Walt Disney World, it would be to not plan too much each day. The parks are very busy, as you can imagine. I find during this time of year it's much better to arrive early at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and knock out your must-do's first. Then around lunchtime, when the parks really start to fill up, head back to your resort to enjoy the pool and relax. Enjoy a nice sit down dinner somewhere and then go back to the parks that evening for the night time firework display and more attractions. The afternoon break really helps. This is my tried and true itinerary for that week each year and I can say it really works!
I hope that you guys all have a magical and memorable Christmas at Walt Disney World this year. If you have any other questions, I'd love for you to come back and ask me.
