Hi Melissa! Welcome to planDisney!
I can't think of a better place to spend the Fourth of July holiday than at the Walt Disney World Resort! A special celebration is typically held each year at the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, with a firework display at these parks over the night sky!
I took a peek at the
park hours for the Magic Kingdom on July 4th, and it looks like the park is open from 9 AM - 10 PM that night. I did not see any mention of the park closing at 7 PM. I would fully expect the
Fourth of July Fireworks to be held on this night for all Guests that have a valid park ticket and park reservation. I would make your
theme park reservation as soon as possible because there is a good chance that this date will fill up quickly.
In addition to any special firework displays, the Magic Kingdom did see a return of
Happily Ever After earlier this month. This nighttime spectacular was put on hold during the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration but is now lighting up the night sky yet again. There is also a welcomed addition to the show that can be seen on Main Street, U.S.A. If you are planning another Magic Kingdom day during your visit, I highly recommended checking out this show!
Melissa, I hope you have a magical time during your summer visit! Make sure to check out the latest attraction to open at the Magic Kingdom. TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise is both thrilling and exhilarating! I was blown away by this attraction the second I entered the queue. Currently, you can join the
virtual queue or purchase an Individual Lightning Lane to ride.
See ya real soon!
