We are excited to take our son for his first visit to Disney World in a just few weeks! He will be 13 months old. He is not walking yet. Will he be required to wear shoes on any of the rides?

    Hi Sandra,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question. You must be pretty excited about your son’s first visit, especially because it’s getting so close!

We visited Walt Disney World Resort with our little guy several times while he was an infant, including a visit when he was 13 months old and not walking yet. He hated shoes as a baby and was always kicking them off. Because of that, I usually let him go barefoot in the Florida heat, with no problems.

If your little guy is being carried or is sitting in your lap in order to experience one of the “any height” attractions, there shouldn’t be any issues if his little tootsies aren’t covered with shoes! If you have any question about the requirements for a given attraction, please speak to the Cast Member at the entrance for further details.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other last-minute questions. And have an AMAZING time with your little one!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
