Excited about a short, adult trip to see Christmas decorations for the first time, 11/29-12/1. Favorite resort is POFQ, but decided to stay at Pop for 3 day trip. Looking for room location, quiet as possible, away from pools but not too far from bus stop.

    Trina:

My husband and I celebrated our 15th Anniversary at Disney last year and stayed at Port Orleans: French Quarter. What a wonderfully relaxing resort!  (Best of all, it's small so really any room you'd get wouldn't be more than a 5-minute walk to the bus stop.

The description of the room you just gave me is EXACTLY what you need to give Disney, rather than a specific room. Here's why: if you give them a specific room, say on the third floor of building 4 (which, by the way, WOULD be away from the pool and not too far from the bus stop), you may find that others have requested that same room or building, too, but has an earlier reservation than you, making your request unavailable.

I always suggest that you give Disney what you're looking for in a room, rather than a specific room, because they know what's available to meet your need should your first choice (or even second or third, be unavailable). If you simply say a location--and don't say why you want it--Disney can only guess why and may not meet your need.

I'd call the reservationist and give them exactly what you've written and, although Disney can't guarantee a specific request, they'll try to make it happen!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
