Ahoy, Alexis! I'm SUPER excited to hEAR you are cruising for the first time with Captain Mickey!
Disney Surf and Turf vacations are my favorites!
Packing for this type of vacation may prove to be a little challenging though, especially when the trip involves both pre- and post-cruise visits to the 4 Disney Theme Parks. Unfortunately, Walt Disney World Resort hotels will not allow you to store any luggage for the duration of your Disney cruise sailing. This is the case even when staying on-property both before and after your Disney Cruise Line adventure.
With
Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation the luggage will be seamlessly transported both ways. The staterooms in the Disney ships were specifically designed with families in mind and are a lot more spacious than the industry average. The storage space underneath the queen-size bed in your stateroom is rather spacious and has a very generous clearance too. I tend to overpack and I've never had any issues storing the extra luggage in our stateroom. I usually put the smaller suitcases inside the larger ones, then roll the larger suitcases under the bed.
When renting a car to drive to Port Canaveral and then back to your Disney Resort hotel, simply store any extra luggage inside the trunk of your rental car. Also, consider packing lighter and either doing laundry at your Disney Resort hotel or using the
Laundry Services aboard Disney Cruise Line. This can help you avoid packing more than necessary.
Wishing you a magical adventure with Captain Mickey and his landlubber friends too!
