Hey Colleen, I feel your pain! My 12 year old is incredibly picky as is my 2 year old, but my 10 year old will try anything. We recently dined at Maya Grill for the first time in many years. We hadn't been since they had changed the menu, which is now has a few of the same items as the newest restaurant on property,
La Hacienda de San Angel over by the Mexico pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase.
Luckily, my kids were able to order from the children's menu and got the macaroni and cheese and the beef tenderloin tips. I was able to order plain pasta for the little one even tho it wasn't on the menu too. It's always good to ask as they are usually really accommodating with kids' special eating issues. Both kids really loved it and also were able to snack on chips and queso before the meals came.
The
menu online is not quite updated (nor are the ones at allears.net) as they now offer the same shrimp tacos from Hacienda among other things. Since I'd just had the shrimp tacos at Hacienda recently (which were amazing!), I actually got the scallop appetizer for my entree with the field greens salad. Both were excellent. The flan for dessert was wonderful too. Check out the menus though and see if there are things that look good to you. Of course they could change between now and May, but you'll get an idea of the type of food. You can also call 407-WDW-DINE and ask if they've gotten an updated menu yet.
I hope that helps with your planning! We actually LOVE Maya Grill for breakfast, it's usually nice and quiet and the food is great. Enjoy your stay and have a wonderful vacation!
