We are very excited for our Disney trip next summer. This time we will not be staying on Disney property. Is there a way to visit other resorts and park our car without reservations/dining at that resort? If not, what are our options?

Greetings, Lauren! Having fun at the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels is a part of the fun while on vacation. Between all the recreation options and the fantastic pools, you can spend the whole day being entertained!

Did you know you can actually park for free for up to three hours at a neighboring resort? This Disney policy is in place to assist guests with dining reservations or if they would like to go Fishing at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside catch-and-release Fishin’ Hole. If you need more than 3 hours for fun, you can always choose a parking spot at a park, such as Magic Kingdom’s Transportation and Ticket Center parking lots and then use on-site Disney Bus or Watercraft Transportation to get around the resort. If you need to move your car, take your parking pass with you, because once you’ve paid for the day, all the Theme Park lots are open to you… you’re in for fun!

Those two options are your best to keep your car “with” you, but you can always hire a ride-share such as UBER or LYFT, with Uber in the Orlando area offering Family service with optional car seats. Look into that for your area, if it suits you. My family has used it several times to get back and forth without lugging a car-seat. If you have any more questions about your upcoming vacation, please let me know. Have a magical time! ~ Lindsey P.
