Welcome back to planDisney, Michelle! I'm always eager to help a fellow Canadian and offer planning help, especially on the subject of dining!
You are correct, Michelle, 6 am EST is the magical time that the window opens for booking dining 60-days before your vacation arrival date! I recommend setting your alarm so you'll be awake and prepared to work some magic. Be sure to be logged in to your My Disney Experience account and have your credit card ready (some restaurants will require a credit card to hold your reservation). You can make your dining reservations either through the
My Disney Experience mobile app or on the
Walt Disney World website. If you prefer speaking to a Cast Member to make your selections, advanced dining reservations over the phone begin at 7 am EST.
There are many amazing dining options to choose from at Walt Disney World Resort! Some of my top recommendations that my family loves include
Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom, which offers a unique dining experience in the Beast's Castle, and
'Ohana at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, which serves up delicious Hawaiian-inspired cuisine. We recently tried
Roundup Rodeo BBQ located in Toy Story Land at
Disney's Hollywood Studios and it was a hit! My daughters couldn't get enough of the food and the atmosphere was so fun; they were offered hobby horses upon entry, rode them to the table, and giggled the entire way!
For something a bit more upscale, you might want to check out
California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort, which boasts stunning views of
Happily Ever After, the fireworks extravaganza at
Magic Kingdom Park. If you're looking for a fun Character Dining experience, try
Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera! You'll dine from a prix-fixe menu with many delicious choices to choose from and then your party can mingle with the stylishly-dressed Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck (character appearances are subject to change).
If you had your heart set on a reservation but weren't able to get it, just keep swimming and don't give up. Reservations can become available as Guests make changes to their plans, so you might get lucky!
I wish you the fastest fingers when it comes to making your dining reservations, Michelle, I have a great feeling!
Cheers,
Candace
