Hi Chris!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Wahoo!! Your Disney Cruise Line vacation is just around the corner! Before you know it, you will be on deck with Captain Mickey and Friends celebrating as you head to sea for some fun and adventure!
Sailing out of
New York City is an adventure in itself! Last fall my family departed from New York; my boys had never been to New York City before so seeing the Statue of Liberty from aboard the “Mickey Boat” was extra special and will be something that I hope they remember forever! On embarkation day, you can definitely drop off your checked luggage with the porters prior to your scheduled Port Arrival Time if you choose to do so. Typically, the port opens for Guests embarking around 10:00AM and you can drop your luggage at that time. I recommend keeping a carryon bag with you that holds all important documents, medications and anything else you may need for that day since your checked luggage will be delivered to your stateroom later that afternoon. I also recommend waiting to affix your luggage tags until you arrive at the port to ensure they don't mistakenly get removed.
When you check in at the port for embarkation (at your Port Arrival Time), you will receive your Key to the World card, Oceaneer Bands for any young Mouseketeers you registered for the Youth Clubs during
Online Check-In and receive a boarding card with a boarding group number on it. Once Disney Cruise Line begins inviting Guests on you will wait until your boarding group number is called to board. Once you step foot onboard, get ready for an adventure you won’t soon forget!
Wishing you a MAGICal voyage with many memories made!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
